The Day Love Won
By Dot Bowen
"…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
As we celebrate our freedom this 4th of July, we’re taking a break from our “Wounded By Friendly Fire” series to share an article with you I found to be wise and comforting during this time of unrest among our Christian family. I hope this article helps you find comfort and hope as it reminds us God is sovereign over the affairs of man. The media in our country breeds fear and uncertainty, but our God offers peace and comfort to our hearts.
Please join me in prayer on July 4th at 12:00pm to ask God to forgive us for not making more of a difference in our country and for Him to heal our land. We must trust the Holy Spirit to give us His strength to be more concerned about the approval of God rather than the approval of man. As followers of Christ, we must be willing to take a stand to love God above our selfish desires.
Many Americans referred to last Friday as the “day love won.” As a Christian, I believe the day “true love won” was over 2,000 years ago when Jesus demonstrated His love for us by dying on the cross so we can experience perfect love. Please click here to read the article, and let’s unite together on July 4th to pray for God to heal our land!
